Book Gift For A Gardener- How to Design A Garden To Attract Bees.

I do love to give garden and wildlife books as gifts. As a gardener, I also love to receive them!

They give me valuable inspirational reading in the winter when gardening is more difficult and then I can implement the ideas gained as soon as  I get out there again!

Whether it's a physical copy of a book or a Kindle version it is lovely to give a gift of knowledge and learning that can be read and the information used time and time again. This is such a book. Plants and Planting Plans for a Bee Garden: How to Design Beauitful Borders That Will Attract Bees

Any gardener will know how important bees are to the plants and flowers in the garden. Many will also know the plight of the bee, in that it is suffering and disappearing all too fast from our planet. Without bees we will all suffer as they are one of the main pollinators of our food.

Sometimes we feel helpless if we only have a tiny patch of land and think what can we do to help bees, surely it is down to the big commercials, landowners and farmers. Yes, it is down to them too but also we can help a lot.

If we put all the little gardens together, even just in containers we can do a lot to help bees in how we plant. Gardeners can help so much to give the bees a fair chance at recovery. Maureen Little, the author of Plants and Planting Plans for a Bee Garden: How to Design Beauitful Borders That Will Attract Bees is a professional garden designer and a beekeeper so well qualified to advise.

This book details how to plant borders so that it helps the bees. A garden like this can be so very beautiful and makes sound ecological sense too. Many bee-friendly plants are gorgeous!

This book shows you what makes a garden and plants bee-friendly. How to plant bee-friendly gardens of all sizes and different styles like cottage gardening, mixed gardening, traditional gardening and even specific color-themed borders. Ideas for herbs, fruit and vegetables are also described. So your garden can look beautiful, be wildlife-friendly to bees and other insects and be productive!

Usefully it covers whether your soil is acid or alkaline and even has ideas for container planting in Spring, Summer and Autumn/Fall. So if you only have room for some containers you can still attract and help bees. There is also an appendices of plants that are bee-friendly so its easy to find some that you may like.

Available in Paperback and Kindle versions at a very good price, I think this is a wonderful book for a gift for anyone who loves their garden to look beautiful and also cares about and wants to support bees.
